Philosophy

Mr. DeFino received his J.D. from the Delaware Law School of Widener University in 1975. He was honored with the law school’s Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award in 1983.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and both the Philadelphia and Delaware County Bar Associations. Mr. DeFino has over thirty-three years of experience as a general trial practitioner focusing primarily in criminal law, wills and estates, personal injury, and elder law. He is a member of the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. DeFino has the coveted legal ability rating of “A” (from very high to preeminent) and the highest general recommendation rating of “V” (very high) in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Martindale-Hubble Law Directory rates lawyers nationally based on opinions from members of the Bar and the Judiciary.

Mr. DeFino is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. His practice has been serving clients in Delaware, Philadelphia, Chester, and various other surrounding counties.

Mr. DeFino is a member of the Delaware County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Delaware County Elder Law Committee. As in previous years, he continues to serve as a volunteer attorney for the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging. He has handled hundreds of cases over thirty-three years in District, State, Federal and County courts before judges and juries.
